SECURITY

How far would you go to keep your facilities safe? A whole lot of companies and facility managers still hold onto human resources, e.g. Security Guards, working in shifts, to secure their properties. Counting on a yearly basis, more than 2 full-time employees need to be deployed, just for security at night. Not only working at certainly unpleasant working hours, Security Guards for facilities may also be conflicted with being alone when potential intruders work their way through a facility backdoor, putting their lives to risk, which can easily augment the stress level of the guards, which is not healthy in the long run.

In an era marked by a constant technological evolution, it is not easy to stand out of the masses in terms of security. This is why Space Time uses high-grade equipment like robots, 3D-scanners and thermal cameras to secure your facility, squeezing the potential for intruders to enter.

How it works

John Mayor S.A. wants to secure their server infrastructure, as well as different office rooms, containing top-secret documents, which we will from now on call the ‘agent-to-secure’. Since there were a number of intrusions in the neighbours facilities, the board of directors has concluded that the level of security inside the John Mayor S.A. facilities should be augmented.

Given that their facility already has a fully operational security system, like door-sensors, movement trackers and other usual installations, the board thinks of augmenting security by putting 2 security guards in shifts around the ‘agents-to-secure’.

Talking to their human resource department, the directors are informed that such an undertaking might take time to put in place, because guards are difficult to find, and when found, need a deep background check if they could potentially be part of a criminal group or help intruders by getting bribed.

Outsourcing this task is known as cost intensive, given the risks related to the task and working in night shifts. This is why they have decided to look out for a more futuristic and sustainable approach to create a fully automated system. This is where they found Space Time, working with fully automated robots with different payloads, designed for site inspections.

After a first request, Space Time analyses John Mayor S.A.’s site, as well as the ‘agent-to-secure’, to then elaborate a concept for the automation of a Robot-Dog inside their facility, collecting data at any moment of it’s automated path, sending it to their internal data-base for data-analysis, where differences are detected and the alarm is deployed, if a potential risk of intrusion can be found by the Space Time algorithms, specialized in detection of missing, added and moved objects in Space and Time.

The fully automated robot has certainly many key benefits to consider, compared to human resources:

  •  The robot’s inspection walk is a fully closed cycle of operations automatically executed by the robot, which is triggered on a predefined schedule.

Robots are never late for work, and don’t need to be reminded of their schedule.

  • The robot updates the security-breach algorithm with the gathered data in permanence, in a way that a slight change inside the facility will notify a responsible, or trigger alarms.

The robot and it’s scanners are precise and will detect differences in Space and Time.

  • The robot’s yearly cost, including equipment and the security-breach algorithm will cost you less than the human resources, putting forward the potential to cut security-related spendings by a considerable amount in the short term, as well as providing the client with the power to increment the robots capabilities and missions in the long run, instead of a constant search for replacement stuff, in case a guard gives up the job, or calls in sick.

The robot will never call in sick at work and is at your service inside your facility 24/7.

  • Permanently reachable, the robot can also intervene on demand, to go out and inspect the facility manually, like gauge reading, leak detection in hazardous environments, buckling analysis for containers under pressure and many more.

The robot is a powerful measurement tool when coped with its 3D scanners and Thermal Camera and PTZ camera with 30x optical zoom.
